Localized histiocytic sarcomas are locally aggressive and have a moderate-to-high risk to metastasize to distant organs, usually the regional lymph nodes, lungs, spleen, liver, and kidneys. Malignant histiocytic sarcomas tend to occur in Flat-coated Retriever, Rottweiler, Golden Retriever, and Labrador Retriever, and usually affect middle-aged to older dogs.
This type of tumor is usually present as a single mass on the skin or under the skin of the pet's limbs but other locations have been reported such as the spleen, lung and periarticular tissue. I prepare a specific herbal Histiocytic Sarcoma support mixture of concentrated extracts of: Elecampane, Horsetail, Yarrow, Pau D’Arco, Tumeric, Violet Leaves, St. Marys Thistle, Devils Claw, Wormwood and Bach flowers Crab Apple, Honeysuckle, Rescue Remedy, Vine and Walnut.
This mix is given in conjunction with my Super Antioxidant-Maritime Pine Bark Antioxidant to support the health of the body systems and organs effected by this disease. The Cancer support can be used in conjunction with other alternative medicines also, or with orthodox medical treatments.
The important distinction between traditional herbal treatment and orthodox medicine is that I am aiming to support the immune system and address the underlying processes which allowed the cancer to develop in the first place. This is distinct from the aim of removing, or otherwise destroying cancerous cells directly once the process of cancer has begun. It is imperative that pets with cancer are provided with pain medication to relieve discomfort caused by the disease.
