The Relax formulation is designed to nourish and restore the nervous system of a dog that is so stressed or nervy as to be its own worst enemy. This formulation has been regularly fed to clients dogs over a 20 year period in our Clinic, support for many owners and trainers alike.
Retraining your dog to react differently in stressful situations will break the habit but is a great deal simpler if accompanied by nervous system tonics that help to relax your dog so that they are able to respond better to training .
Animal Botanical Canine Relax formula is given initially 3 doses per day and then reduced to 2 or 1 per day as the behaviour improves. The size of the single dose is then reduced slowly to find the minimum dose that maintains the dog in a calm and reasonable frame of mind.
Animal Botanical™ Relax formulation contains some of the most reliable and traditionally used herbs for reducing physical nervous tension and anxiety.
How do I use it?
• Small dog < 5 kilos: provide 3-5 drops twice daily on or within feed
• Medium dog < 25 kilos: provide 5-15 drops twice daily on or within feed
• Large dog > 25 kilos : provide 15-30 drops twice daily on or within feed
Shake well before use. For best results maintain continuous use for a minimum of 3 weeks. Discontinue use 24 hours prior to any surgical procedure, and wait 24 hours after surgery before continuing use

Great Product!
I have an extremely anxious rescued old boy who was badly abused as a pup. He shivers and shakes Badly.
As he’s gotten older his anxiety has become much worse. I started him and his younger sister who’s highly active, has no Off switch and is too obsessed once she’s focused on something she’s a Live Wire, both on the Relax.
They’ve just about gone through a 100 ml bottle and within 2 weeks of giving them the relax they’re both far more settled and calm.
It’s been 15 yrs since I started with McDowells and I swear by their products, their knowledge and the customer support is Amazing. Thank you both Nicki and Catherine who’ve helped me with a few of my rescues.

Fabulous product
During lockdown 2 of our doggies didn’t get the socialisation during there critical socialisation period, once we were able to go out and about again these drops were our best friend!!

Relax
We got our Chesapeake Bay Retriever at 6 1/2 mths and noticed that she was unable to settle even after long walks and attention. She would pace / play or become destructive. After starting relax she began to be able to self regulate herself. We had never seen her spontaneously go to sleep prior to relax (we had to bring her into the laundry to enforce sleep) We went away for a few day and my son forgot to give it to her and we noticed a difference in her behaviour again so this confirmed to us that the relax formula is amazing!

Excellent Product
My Georgie was erratic, hyperactive and for no obvious reason. This product has returned her to the placid, still active, fun loving dog she's always been. My Maltese/Poodle is less successful. He responds to it at night but through the day is as wacky and fretty as always. It's a very good product though and perhaps I'll have to adjust the dose - or just enjoy him anyway.

Calm dog's
I originally got the Relax formula for my hypo looney Koolie, after just a few day's she was able to relax and not chase birds all day, now she finally is able to rest and chill with the other dog's and family. I then put my other 3 dog's on it as well when preparing to relocate to a new area, as they were getting stressed with all the activity going on. I have continued using it after moving to help them adjust and settle in. My Koolie started chasing kangaroos so now has to be walked on a lead, I ran out of Relax for a few day's while waiting for a new bottle to arrive and she started to get looney again and hard to lead, but after a few day's back on it she was calm again. Highly recommend.

Relaxing Pugs
These drops helped Dyson to settle at night, sleep and to stop barking at times at night. They are great and he shows no side affects, just a good nights sleep for all.

Marked difference.
6 weeks ago my dog was very nervous and would walk around with his tail down, and crowds and barking dogs upset him. Since being on this product, in conjunction with the Nervous Episode Herbal, he is a changed dog. He is now much happier, more confident and if something frightens him, he gets over it quickly. I couldn't be happier with both products

Aided with epileptic brain activity
McDowells are working with me to help my labrador retriever with epileptic seizures. She is on Epilepsy Mix but we needed to go a step further and work on brain activity as she was having muscle twitches. The difference isn't just in easing the brain activity - which it has done excellently. I'm also now able to clip her nails while she lies quietly beside me on the couch. This is unheard of for our girl. It' taken a few weeks to get to this point but the difference is striking. Relax mix does not make her sleep more or appear in any way different to her normal self but has done exactly what we needed and eased away the brain activity that was causing the twitching on her body.

Previous treatment for thunder angst. Recent treatment for travel angst and sickness
I have used Relax on my GSP and old rehomed Lab for several years. After a 3 week regime both dogs improved dramatically. My sceptical husband was amazed at the difference even after the first dose! We then gradually reduced it, giving only during thundery weather.
I have just started using it on my new Lab who we rehomed at one year old and suffered from travel sickness. With advice from the herbalist on a regime and the use of relax we are now travelling 40 mins down the mountains with no sickness or drooling! We are both very happy!!
