Cancer can be seen as a generalised breakdown of metabolic and immune systems and the bodily processes involved in cell health maintenance which obviously underlies the development of all cancers in general terms. Fibrosarcoma is a type of cancer that arises from the fibrous connective tissues of the dogs body. They mainly occur in the mouth ,skull, spine, pelvis and ribs but can arise from any soft tissue in or around bone.
This cancer is seen most commonly in older male dogs, except for a certain variety that is seen in the mouths of younger dogs. This cancer is a part of a group of tumours that would be termed non-osteosarcomas of bone and can sometimes be very difficult to distinguish from the far more common osteosarcoma.
Traditional treatment options can be limited as surgical removal, Radiation & Chemotherapy have, to date, had limited success in prolonging quality of life and or extending remission. (Despite this history, Canine Oncologists are getting better at targeting tumours and determining correct doses for dogs).
The Fibrosarcoma Cancer support has concentrated extracts of; Equisetum, Elecampane, Yarrow, Wormwood, Parsley and Oats along with the Bach Flowers Mimulus, Vine and Impatiens.
This mix is given in conjunction with super antioxidant, Maritime Pine Bark Extract. This concentrates is derived from the bark of locally grown Maritime Pine Trees.
Together they have the potential to slow down and reverse the development of the tumours hopefully bringing the Cancer into remission.
The important distinction between my traditional herbal treatment and orthodox medicine is that here I am aiming to reverse the underlying processes which allowed the cancer to develop in the first place. This is distinct from the aim of removing, or otherwise destroying cancerous cells directly once the process of cancer has begun.
