This is a specially formulated supplement of herbs that have been traditionally used to support endocrine and digestive imbalances, and may benefit those horses that have had their metabolism compromised as a result of stress, illness, over fed processed food or over use of chemicals.
The tonic will need to be given for a minimum of 3 weeks, and can be maintained long term if necessary.
Improvements are usually observed within 3-6 weeks on the tonic.

60mls twice a day in feed for 12 weeks, then reduce to 40mls twice a day thereafter.

Fabulous results
My stockhorse has struggled with soundness and laminitic episodes for ages. I didn't want to go down the path of constant medication. I have used this product in conjunction with Equigesta-Pre as per Cath's recommendations. What a result! Horse has lost all fatty pads and is comfortable and sound. He is also not 'starving' anymore. The vet was here the other day and could not believe the improvement. I love McDowells products!

I used this on both of my miniature ponies with fantastic results. Both were lame barely able to walk within 5dats they were both walking and within two weeks happily cantering around like nothing ever happened. Their fatty spots have decreased significantly and I’ve started using it for my qh’s as well in hopes to reduce their fat!

This is one product I was prescribed as a much sought after solution for an issue not acknowledged by the veterinary fraternity. My pony was suffering laminitic episodes and thickening of the mane for reasons unknown to myself, as I thought I had all bases covered. My ponies metabolism was in a state of imbalance. With this product being administered and diet correction, my ponies symptoms have largely reduced over time to negligible levels. I would recommend this product to have on hand for maintenance doses.

Excellent Product
My pony showed signs of early laminitis about 6 weeks ago. Very fat and cresty with lameness. I contacted Cath and she recommended Metabolic-S and Alleviate. I had previously gone down the standard routine of treating laminitis (with sad results both times) and I was determined to go the natural path this time and fix the gut, not make the gut worse. I have to be honest and say that I did not take this pony off grass. I did however move her to a very shady paddock with grass that was less leafy and in my opinion, contained less sugar than the full sun paddock where the laminitis had commenced. The Metabolic-S has reduced the crest and the hard fat. She is trotting and cantering around like the laminitis never happened. I am also giving it to her brother as he was quite cresty. I am exceedingly pleased with how this is working for my ponies.

Amazing results
My Shetland, Fergus developed laminitis last winter and was very ill. I managed to nurse him back to health using natural methods and restricting his grazing to low-sugar products. To complete his healing regime I bought Metabolic - S. He really benefited from the herbal tonic and is now glowing with health. Full of vim and vigour, he is back to his old self again.

I have used Metabolic S for some time now. This treatment was originally started for my pony where her metabolism was in a state of imbalance resulting in a laminitic condition. Integral Product
Metabolic-S has been an important and essential formulation to administer to my laminitic pony to control her metabolism issues surely brought about by stockfeeds that aren't in the best interest of long term good health. It is with much thanks to the advice from McDowells that has enlightened me on alternative causes of lamintis that the mainstream veterinary fraternity don't seem to have knowledge on. I would not be without this product. As with all these formulations, they will only be of maximum benefit if other management practices are adhered to.

Highly Recommend
My horse was chronically lame with no specific diagnosis and a negative Cushing's test. He gets multiple supplements from McDowells, and he has had an amazing recovery with Metabolic-S. He no longer acts 'starving' and has been able to gain much needed weight. He is much more sound than he used to be and can even he turned out on dead winter grass. The smell doesn't detour him from eating every bite of his food and it is worth every penny to keep him healthy, especially when no other vet knew how to help him!
