NB: 48hrs withholding before competition or race days. Use Alleve8 Compete as an alternative.
This formulation has evolved from a consideration of the dangers of administering phenylbutazone (Bute) routinely to horses sensitive to its side effects. Traditionally White Willow Bark and Devils Claw were used to manage pain. Guaiacum was traditionally used for Gout and Burdock as a blood cleanser for Rheumatoid processes. Maritime Pine Bark, Rosehips, Elecampane with its Allantoin content , together with Yarrow in a Vinegar base all support and encourage repair.
This formulation may be used safely for both emergencies and in the long term for comfort.
The tonic will need to be given continuously for a minimum of 3 weeks, and can be maintained long term if necessary. Improvements are usually observed within 3-6 weeks on the tonic.

Though once considered a rare issue seen primarily in older performance horses, increasing research and awareness have revealed that DSLD is more widespread and complex than originally thought, with systemic implications affecting multiple soft tissues throughout the body - not just the limbs.
There are two types of PSSM. Both types have an abnormal type of glycogen staining in muscle biopsies, and the types can be distinguished by genetic testing. At present there is not a specific genetic test for type 2 PSSM and scientists do not have conclusive evidence of an inherited gene.
A hoof abscess can cause a horse owner to panic when the horse is suddenly suffering from severe lameness with no visible injury. A hoof abscess is pus in the hoof that can be dealt with quickly and cleanly, however, complications can develop...
Horses can easily live up to the age of 30 thanks to the mutual effort of owners, veterinarians and equine herbalists. While the worldwide senior population is growing, keeping the right weight of your elder steeds is crucial to racking up the years and can sometimes be a complex process.
A common enquiry at McDowells Herbal is if using Phenylbutazone or ‘Bute’ as it’s commonly known, is dangerous to health. ‘Bute’ is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to treat inflammation, pain and fever in animals...
I was recommended Alleviate for my pony who was experiencing early laminitis. I noticed that she was more comfortable within 2 hours of her first dose!

OMG
This product is AMAZING ! I use it daily for my old horses and for my horses in work and also for my horse who has had Kissing spine surgery. It is a game changer.. keeps them all happy and feeling fantastic and I know it is only doing good for them and not giving them any gut issues like veterinary prescribed pain relief

Alleviate benefits
This is the only product that has helped my old laminitic horses. In fact my littlest pony is properly pain free for the first time. I had tried all the vet prescriptions and they only helped a bit with the worry of all the side effects.

Worth Every Penny and More!
I have used this product on all of my horses, each for different reasons, and have had hands down success with the product every single time. My 2yo filly bumped her knee hard on her stall one day, so I added the loading dose to her feed every day for approx. 10 days. She never took a lame step and the inflammation came down at a consistent rate. I recently purchased a rehab project and upon pulling her shoes, she could hardly walk. I started her on alleviate and put her in hoof boots and she is trotting around as if she’s never felt better. My 14yo gelding had a career ending hoof injury due to a bad farrier. I have been able to rehab him to full soundness, but he has so many areas of tightness and soreness that it was an endless battle to school more than low level dressage. I put him on the loading dose and after approx. 3 weeks my bodyworker couldn’t believe how great he was moving. She even said she did her shortest session ever on him in the 3 years she has worked on him. He is now able to school more advanced movements every ride and has more energy than I can manage (in a good way)! My last success story is my biggest. I did a consult for my 17.1hh gelding who has been chronically lame for over 2 years, and I had basically given up. Through the recommended diet change and supplementation, he is more sound than he has ever been and is back to jumping. He is the horse that made me a believer. The price of this product is irrelevant when it works this well.

Very pleased with results
I have a IR/PSSM QH mare - now 14 years old. I have used Alleviate now for nearly 12 months for unexplained low grade log term chronic laminitis. My mare has been on a controlled tailored mineral balanced diet for over 4 years (no grazing - hay only + supplements). Despite mammoth commitment to sort out the source of the inflammation I have been unable to sort it out. She had been on 4cyte also for 'puffs' - which was very successful. A local vet made a couple of suggestions - one of which was to try Alleviate. Problem solved!! We still have quite a high maintenance management plan - but Alleviate seemed to be the last piece of the puzzle. It works for us. I will continue to use it.

Very good product
My 20yr old warmblood mare was diagnosed as having navicular after xrays when she suddenly went chronic lame in front feet. I put her on alleviate as well as the tendon and bone mix and hoof oil and after approx 3 months noticed she is no longer lame and is trotting and cantering around without pain.

Awesome results
I saw results within 3 days. My mare had a dreadful fence injury where she exposed the flexor tendon but luckily didn't cut it too, swelling and lameness was significantly reduced 3 days after injury and healing was complete after 4 weeks, she was also on infectaclear as well. Will be my 'go to' treatment from now on

Wow !
I am so impressed with this product ! Our sport of eventing is not only mentally but physical draining and can take its toll on our athletes (horses ). The Alleviate liquid helps to prevent and assist with any bumps or minor pain experienced with day to day training . I find that keeping my horses on this throughout the on and off season , I have been able to reduce any major injuries . It’s worth it!
