A nourishing blend of herbs traditionally used to support healthy bones, ligaments, tendons, and cartilage. Formulated to assist recovery after physical stress or injury while helping maintain strong, resilient connective tissue. This formula contains nutrient-dense ingredients including millet and horsetail, natural sources of organic silica and magnesium that contribute to bone and tissue structure. Horsetail is also traditionally valued for its anti-inflammatory, astringent, and tissue-supporting properties. Linseed provides natural nourishment for connective tissue and is a whole-food source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, including linoleic acid. Kelp supplies a broad spectrum of trace minerals—including calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, and sodium—that support normal bone health. Yarrow has traditionally been used to help manage tissue swelling and inflammation while supporting healthy circulation and bone marrow function.

How do I use it?
DIRECTIONS: Remove 2 litre activator from bucket. For ease of mixing, decant half the dry mix into another bucket or bag and keep aside. Mix the remaining dry mix with 1 litre of the activator to make a mash. Repeat the process with the other dry mix when required.
DOSAGE: Mix into feed.
Mini: ¼ cup twice daily
Pony: ½ cup twice daily
Horse: ¾ cup twice daily
Large Horse: 1 cup twice daily
Though once considered a rare issue seen primarily in older performance horses, increasing research and awareness have revealed that DSLD is more widespread and complex than originally thought, with systemic implications affecting multiple soft tissues throughout the body - not just the limbs.
This condition refers to the development of bony growth or scarring around the pastern or coffin joint, usually as a response to joint strain, bruising, or unresolved inflammation. Over time, the affected tissue lays down a ring of bone in an attempt to stabilise the area - a natural process, but one that can compromise soundness and cause discomfort if not supported properly.
There are two types of PSSM. Both types have an abnormal type of glycogen staining in muscle biopsies, and the types can be distinguished by genetic testing. At present there is not a specific genetic test for type 2 PSSM and scientists do not have conclusive evidence of an inherited gene.

It has been a year now since I started my Gelding on Tendon and Bone. He did a flexor Tendon 4 years ago and this is the first year I have confidently been able to ride him without him having time off. Still some fluid during steamy weather but it does go down. Vet had said it was all non reactive a couple of months ago, but it is the Summer/harder ground that usually makes him close to lame. I believe this product along with Tendon Cream has benefitted him

I have 2 horses on this mix and have found that this is working at keeping my 20yr old with hyper extension knee injury sound and my 11 yr old with every ailment under the sun, sound, even after a 15K ride through this bush. Wonderful product.

Maintaining and improving bone and tendon strength
All 3 of my horses are taking the Tendon and Bone. They like the taste and I believe it is helping with bone and tendon strength. I feel good that it is all natural

Tendon and Bone Review
I have been using this product for the last 6 months on a pony with arthritis. She has been sound during that time except when we stopped for a while. I am using it in smaller doses for our other horses as it is an easy way to give them the additives they need in their diets without using a multiple of other products.

Love this product has helped my mare with navicular disease
My 20yr old warmblood mare was diagnosed with navicular and decided to use this product as I have had great success with McDowell products in the past. I was just hoping to get my mare paddock sound, but the result has been far better than I could have imagined, she is now trotting and cantering around without any soreness. Looks like I will be able to ride her on the new arena. Very happy with the results - it has taken approx 4mths for me to feel confident that she is now back to her old mischievous self.

Tendon and Bone
My 21 year old Gelding ruptured his Flexor Tendon 3 years ago. Each Summer it would flare up so McDowell's Herbal was suggested. Within a short space of time, 2 1/2 weeks, there was a huge difference. We have been following a plan that Cath has given us, and although it is still a timely process, after 17 weeks it has been promising, even to the point of being able to hop on for short bursts of exercise. Added with Alleviate for a few weeks and then daily Tendon Cream, hopefully we can start on a maintenance program soon

Excellent Quality
Our horse had a sequestrum on the back cannon bone and also has grade 1 arthritis in his front knee, this product was an amazing in his recovery from is sequestrum and also his front knees. He is moving more freely than we have seen in a longtime. We have now purchase our 2nd bucket and are looking forward to seeing the end result. We cannot thank McDowell's enough for their advice, they have even given us advice on his feeding.

Tendon & Bone, Alleviate, Infect-A-Clear
My 23 yr old Thoroughbred Mare suffered a very bad cut to her Fetlock, slicing though her tendon. Vet was sceptical that we may have to have her put down. After a week or so, the stiches were busted, the wound was infected, and I could see this was not going to end well. I contacted Cath, and she suggested we get her on Tendon & Bone, Infect-A-Clear, and Alleviate. It did take several weeks to start to make a difference, but 4 months later, she’s a different horse - she’s back to her old self able to run, without any problems! I honestly think we would not be at this point if it wasn’t for these products.
