Case Studies

"We are most grateful to McDowells Herbal treatments for the support you have given us. Within 12 months from acquiring Cassie (2006) she commenced having epileptic seizures, which was very scary. The local veterinary doctor, at that time, prescribed a chemical treatment that was very demanding in that the dosage had to be administered to Cassie at precisely that same time twice every day, without any real assurance that it would work. Thankfully you were able to provide a herbal solution without the lifelong demands and time dosage constraints. Cassie has not had a seizures in the last 4 years."

Review of Epilepsy Mix for our Labrador
Penny's a 4 year old lLabrador who had her first seizure early in March - a big grand mal. Within 2 weeks we had her on Epilepsy Mix. Her second was a month later and about 1/4 as bad. The third was 2 weeks later and a petit mal. On the advice of the naturopath at McDowels we've increased the drops from 15 to 25. Two weeks free at this time. The support from McDowells is excellent.

Epilepsy Mix drops & also Episodic drops
Our standard poodle Jet started having 'moments' when he was only about 3 years old. We videoed his behaviour, and the vet confirmed that he thought it was the beginning of epilepsy turns. We were told we could just keep an eye on him, but when the fits became too regular, it would be best to put him on meds. The meds would eventually have an effect on his organs, but would help control seizures. A work colleague put me on to McDowells, and we had a very thorough discussion about what was happening and what we could try, and the plan was to avoid using conventional medications. So we began using the Epilepsy mix daily and also had the Episodic mix on hand to treat any fits. The results were STUNNING! Prior to using the Episodic drops, his fits could last anything up to 20-30 minutes. Probably 3 times we used the Episodic mix, the fit ceased within a minute or two....!!! AMAZING!!! Ever since then he has his Epilepsy Mix drops on his evening meal every single day and has never had another fit in over 10 years!!!! (However, we have always had the Episodic drops on hand, just in case!). Well, Jet and his brother Shadow are senior citizens these days, both are 14 years & 8 months! And they also have their daily dose of Dancing Dog for their aches & pains that age brings. They are living their best lives!! Thanks McDowells for your care and advice! (And our Vet is amazed at their health, especially the control of Jet's epilepsy..!!)

This mix works wonders.
This mix works wonders. My 8 year old Doxie has seizures and did not want her on Chemical prescriptions. Had her on CBD and it did help but not as much as this mix. The separation between her last seizure and the previous was over 3 months, she has never gone this long!

Have nothing to say but good things.
Beau, my bichon, had a major seizure while at groomer wherein he stopped breathing and had to be brought back. In the past there have been small what might have been considered seizures but never diagnosed. Started treatment about 10 days ago (slow customs clearance in US) but seeing great results generally in Beau. He is far more alert, even energetic (he's an old dog between 12 and 14). He's I think in better shape than he has been in a while. We have used Mcdowell products for several of our past dogs and always been very satisfied with the results. I heartily recommend this and any other Mcdowell products.

SWITCHING ON MURPHY - CANINE EPILEPTIC SEIZURES
Just an update to let you know how Murphy is going. He has had a couple of fits over the last week which is a vast improvement on twice a day. We have given him the episodic remedy as directed at these times. One of the things we have noticed about him besides the reduction in number of episodes is that he is much more chirpy and sharper in his movements. He always seemed kind of sluggish, especially for a kelpie. He now runs a lot more easily and enjoys playing with the other dogs even more. He is very calm when we let him off the chain now, before he used to run and perhaps induce an episode. Another thing is that he responds to his name a lot better when distracted and is much more willing to come when called away from something distracting like sheep or chasing birds etc. He seems a lot more switched on mentally. As you can imagine we are really pleased with these results in such a short time and really happy that we have not had to put him onto the hard core drugs the vet would have prescribed.
