Bacchus was two months short of his ninth birthday when he became sick. One afternoon he just started throwing up and for three days he could hold nothing down. On the third day I brought him to my vet. She said he was dehydrated and had a fever. X-rays showed something unusual in his abdomen. He rushed him to a large animal hospital in Tampa, FL. They told us after a sonogram and biopsy that he had Spindle Cell cancer in his upper intestine.

The surgery to remove it was quoted as $7-9,000 dollars, with no guarantee it wouldn't return. He could even die on the operating table. We left the hospital heartbroken. The next day we returned to our local vet and asked for pain medication and antibiotics. She agreed to come to our home to put him down if need be.

I received the serum on March 30, 2020. Due to my white German Shepherds weight he needed around 24 drops twice a day with his meals.

During this time I also followed Cathy's recommendations for changing his meals. I added raw chicken breast, round steak, liver, sardines along with chopped red cabbage, ground almonds, carrots and pumpkin puree.Cottage Cheese and kibble for breakfast and cooked ground meat for lunch.

Needless to say he loved the new menu along with his older brother, an 11 year old German Shepherd.

Well, Bacchus has not been sick again since that last week in March of 2020. Here it is January 27th, 2021 and he is as vibrant, energetic, silly and loving as he as ever been. My husband and I took both of them to our Vet for their annual checkup last November and the vet said he could feel nothing when he felt his belly and he guesses he is in remission. Bacchus will be 10 years old on May 1st 2021. He is now only getting half of the recommended dose of the formula now, as per Cathy's recommendations.

Our dog was diagnosed with spindle cell cancer although she is only six and has been seemingly the healthiest, most energetic dog we have ever had. She is a lab mix, incredible strong and athletic and always very happy and engaged. The cancer and the steroids made her lethargic and apathetic and then crazy hungry. We did not want to go the chemo route and instead chose McDowells to boost and support her own immune system. We have been on the treatment for 2 months now and with drastic changes to her diet as well, she is holding her own. She is not back to normal but she has a quality of life that seems worth the effort and price. McDowell Herbal is a kind, caring and sensitive team who is responsive and informative. Mid Oct 2019 we were passed a diagnosis of spindle cell sarcoma for our lab. Frankly speaking I was told to say good nite to her, see an oncologist or just take her home and love her as she got worse with this nasty, aggressive diagnosis. I was in shock. Bogey, a 15-1/2 year old Border Collie, our Baby, was diagnosed with Spindle Cell Cancer in February, 2012. We were devastated. We had recently lost our 13 year-old Schnauzer, Brickell, who had Bladder Cancer. Brickell had undergone two surgeries, chemo and countless medications. But to no avail. We lost Brickell to internal bleeding. I did not want Bogey to go through this. Bogey's personality was just not conducive to a lifestyle of surgery, chemo and medications. The growth on Bogey's tail section was actually found by Bogey's Groomer. It was about the size of an orange slice. Our trusted Vet diagnosed the lump, explained what Spindle Cell Cancer was - that it grew out as opposed to radically in, and that it usually was confined to one area and did not travel as rapidly as other cancers inside the body. We were advised that removal of this tumour would have to be aggressive and therefore to allow 1" around the tumour in order to encompass the roots. We were also told that there was a 90% chance that the tumour would grow back. After experiencing what we did with Brickell and watching the cancer grow back, I decided against the surgery. I researched Spindle Cell Cancer on the Internet and read how the cancer grew, and then researched treatments. This is where I found McDowell's Herbal Treatments, a firm based in Australia. At the age of 17-1/2, over two years following the diagnosis, Bogey's tumour did start to seep blood and we took him to the Emergency Vet Clinic where they stopped the bleeding. They did a CT scan on the tumour and found that the mass was probably operable to remove so we spoke with the Surgeon who was a Specialist in Soft Tissue Surgery and opted for the surgery to remove or at least de-bulk. We knew that at 17-1/2 years, we were taking a risk but we couldn't stop the bleeding as it was and so they operated on Bogey. We lost Bogey on the Operating Room table due to heart failure. When the Emergency Vet called me I could tell from the sound of her voice that it wasn't good news. Bogey's heart rate started to drop and they couldn't save him. They wheeled Bogey in on a stretcher covered by a black blanket. All that was showing was his little soft face and his white feet beneath the blanket. He just looked like he was sleeping. We kissed him goodbye. I know Bogey would never have made it this far without McDowell's Herbal Treatments and I am eternally grateful. The loss of a pet that was
17-1/2 is very overwhelming but the publishing of an Obituary in our local paper helped to give us closure. Bogey was such a special doggie to us and we will miss him always.
